hi,
i am new to this list, have a background as a mech. eng. with a
little elec experience. i have a Diacro VT19 NC turret punch. it is
basically a 2 axis NC sheet metal punch. it has a GE Mark Century 550
controller with a tape reader. the machine currently runs fine, but
i would like to hook it up to a PC to control it and also to do part
design. there are the 2 motion axes, the punch trigger (it is a
flywheel driven punch) and the turret position selector. does anyone
have any experience in converting a machine of this type to PC
control? what about simple design software? i would rather purchase
the items i need, as i don't have much spare time for fabrication and
debugging. any help is appreciated.
thanks,
chris
