encoder identification and specs

Hello,
I have 3 brush type servo motors with encoders and am trying to locate the
specs on the encoders. The encoders are housed in a 3.25" square by 1.5" deep
black plastic box which is open on the back. It contains a GE printed circuit
board held down by 3 screws with these silkscreened numbers: 002/004 and
44B418262-G01/005. The exciter lamp is solid state (led?) and connects to the
board through sliding contacts. The main board has a group of 6 male molex
style pins. There are 2 IC's located on the board with non standard
numbers, 2 trimpots, plus 2 light detectors so I guess that it's quadrature.
It's looks like industrial quality and I'll use it if I can. The motor is
made by Indiana General, part # 2230D-3. Would anyone have any idea of how to
connect this encoder or where I can find a schematic of the board?
cheers,
