What in heavens' name will insure the "phase lock" of the pair of motors to
each other? I made a HUGE X-Y table once, with a pair of "X-screws", and
connected them with sprocket-chain. Required some rather fussy "matching" to
get the rotary position of each "matched" to a sprocket-tooth such that the
"linear position" of both ball-nuts were matched (i.e., carriage was "square"
on the X-ways).

With a "free flying servo" they jus' ain't NO way this gonna happen! THINK
about it! And remember: Such things work very well on smoke, but if the
tiniest bit ever leaks out, it just won't work right again, and it is
exceeding difficult to put the smoke back IN there ! ! !
