Bein' generally very, very ignernt, I can only IMAGINE this "simulation" you
all are discussing is "on-screen", and not "on paper". Gawrsch, the only
metal-working I do is with a couple of MANUAL lathes and a BP knockoff, and
that is to build PC-controlled machines to make musical-instrument parts of
hardwoods (exotics, mostly).

I first built a home-brew CNC lathe using an 8K PET in '79. I built another
in '84, and two "twins" in '99, one of those going to Ohio. To "simulate", I
use a plotter I ALSO built, which draws a trace of the path of the bit at 5X
scale. This way, it is easy to "see" what to edit on the program. The
plotter "uses" the same program as the lathe, and the lead of the X- and Y-
screws is simply 5X that of the lathe. Simple. DO IT YOURSELF!
