Sanity Check - Mach1/Rutex/Aerotech

I need to make sure my basic approach is sound and have one
question. I'm buying (smokin deal) 3 Aerotech BM800 brushless motors
and 3 Aerotech BA20-160 drives They can be seen at:
http://aerotech.com/Mcd_cat/dcdtoc.html)
I plan on using Master5/Mach1 for CNC control. Since Art's interface
spits out step/dir signals I will also buy Rutex.com's 997 servo
board to convert the step/dir signals into 0-10v signals for the BA
drives.

Does this sound ok and pass the sanity check? If so here's the
question. Will the Rutex 997 or the BA drive take the encoder
feedback? Both of them say they take encoder feedback. The BA drive
says it will accept a 0-10v signal from any controler. It also says
it can be externally commutated. Does the external commutation mode
represent sending the encoder feedback to the Rutex? The BA drive
also talks about torque and velocity modes. What's the difference
with these modes? I know all of that is kinda more than one
question! Thanks for any insight.
