Dave: Do you mean just a "pulser circuit" which will "rapid-traverse" the
steppers, or one with which you can "enter" some specific number of pulses to
be sent to the motors?

If the former, a simple 555 circuit would do just fine! Now, something with
"thumb wheels" with which one would set the number of pulses to be generated
would be more involved than hooking up an old (working!) laptop, etc! And
much, much less versatile. Specifically what is it you want to do? I might
be able to help you design such if "simple"! Jan Rowland
