remote unit for emc

Hi!
I want to design a remote to be used with emc. I dont
need it to be wireless.I was thinking to use another
keyboard connected in parallel or with some (AND/OR
logic) with the primary keyboard. I am thinking to
modify and use the pc-keyboard circuit with push
buttons for jogging, homing etc for this remote.

Please suggest what may be the best method to
accomplish this task?
or has anyone already done that?
