FWIW, I was climb milling steel yesterday with a 1 1/4
inch 6 flute. I'm hardly an expert, but the
Anti-Backlash ballscrews on my BP series I CNC must be
in pretty good shape because it cut it like butter. I
think the ballscrews are the key to making it look
easy.
Why was I climb milling steel with a 6 flute 1 1/4 end
mill... because I am a beginner and don't know better.
It did come out nice and I was able to take some deep
cuts if I kept the table speed down.
