Re: Windows 2000

Well just to let you all know, I installed Windows 2000 in 1 hour 17
minutes. That included setting up my Internet connection.
I did an upgrade install but selected to NOT upgrade the existing
Windows but install on a different drive ( J:) and it went fine.

The price for this kind of install is, I have to install all my my
applications again.

The deciding factor for the selection was the message There is "no
uninstall" .

I booted to Windows 98 using System Commander and did the install as an
upgrade from Windows 98, I could not afford to have it wreck my Windows
NT4.0 installation as it's where all my work is stored.

Win 2K handled the setup flawlessly and System Commander did also...

Tips about the upgrade and rebate:-
You will need the first page of an original Windows NT 3.5q or 4.0 users
manual, or the flip lid ot the original box it came in.


I expect there will be a few nightmares while I install my applications.
