Servo & stepper motor help & how-to books?

I have spent an hour or so trying to find a post about instruction
books, and have yet to find one, so please forgive me if this post
seems redundant. I am looking for assistance in finding books,
articles, good websites, etc. that teach basic and some advanced
knowledge about the servo and stepper motor systems. From the base
components to make a proper CNC system to the explanation of
different types of systems and components. I am looking for
instructions that will get the un-informed up to speed without
requiring a background in engineering. Pleases keep in mind I am
interested in servo and stepper knowledge that is pertinent to the
home/hobbyist and not industry in-depth complex systems. A book on
rudder servo control for an aircraft carrier, though I am sure
interesting, is not desired. I appreciate any and all help in
advance and hope someone might be able to lead me in the correct
