This is getting very close to being off topic. Please bring it back to
the subjects of the group or take it elsewhere. There is a newsgroup
that is specific for lasers if what is needed is information on the
various lasers. Now if the desire is to discuss making a machine with a
laser and the associated fine points of said machine that is on topic.

Normal warnings apply, violators will be risking moderation or banning
so tread lightly on this and consider whether your posting has any
relevance to the group themes.

P.S. A CO2 laser is the norm in low power marking and balsa cutting
machines. A YAG is more frequently used for metal marking along with
much higher power CO2. When I considered getting a machine I found that
I could have a company do my cutting so cheaply that it just did not
make any sense to spend my money on the machine.
