This is an exceedingly bad course to take! Replacing a bad bearing
will cost $10 and take half an hour. Replacing the belt housing
castings could easily cost $1000, by wild guess. The pinion shaft
that is the shaft the big toothed pulley runs on is supported by
2 motor-grade bearings that any bearing house will have.

If the problem is actually in the bearings that support the bull gear,
that may cost a bit more, and be just a little harder to change out,
but you still don't want to destroy very expensive castings due to
inaction.
