I was actually thinking of old cardboard printer tubes, some spiral spring,
a little plywood, and .020 thick polyethylene film (mcmaster carr number:
86255K31 ) a few angle brackets, and 1/4" dia shaft, and some brakeformed
.09 aluminum for a case and you'd be set!
