Yaskawa step/direction and Mach1

Hi
Has anyone one used Yaskawa servo packs with step/direction control.
If so was it simple and clean operating? I was considering using Mach1 and
the stepper type output. If some one has used these products together or the
servos with other stepper software I would like to hear your thoughts. Thanks
