Absolutely yes. The puropse of the G220 is to useful to the casual
user. They would have a drive that cannot be damaged by miss-
application.
On the other hand, OEMs are extremely price sensitive but have the
luxury of an engineering department that insures the G201/G210 drives
are applied correctly. They don't need nor want to pay for various
protection circuits because their engineering dept. covers that
situation.
