Since I have quick change tooling on my ENCO 9 x 42, I'm gonna drive my
Z-axis through the collet drawbolt. My plans are to machine the drawbolt to
allow back-to-back taper bearings, located in an overhead bar 1" x 4" x 13"
lg, that carries bearings for ballscrews on the outboard ends, and drive
the ass'y with two 350 oz-in steppers (mounterd on top of the barstock)
phase-locked together. The ballnuts will be rigidly mounted on either side
of the spindle ass'y. (Any criticism will be gladly be welcomed. I like to
make all my changes before I start my projects).
