Big Thanks to all those who helped me get EMC going with the VIA EPAI-M
motherboard. Its onboard video didnt work so well with Linux and none of
the existing drivers could or would sub-in to give any greater resolution
than 640x480.
So finally found a "Very Cheap" $29.00 solution that gave me very high
resolutions and super easy setup since Xconfigurator detected the card right
away!
Armed with this list I headed off to my local Computer Parts store:
http://www.xfree86.org/4.1.0/Status.html
Found a KASER M64-32P that used Nvidia's old RIVA TNT-2, has 32megs Video
that gave me a very nice looking 1400x1200 display resolution.
It was Automatically detected upon bootup by RedHat and was easy to setup.
The only complex thing was picking the resolution that I wanted....
I would recommend to anyone (as was recommended to me) working with the VIA
EPAI motherboard to either use the Cyberblade (generic) drivers (for the
earlier version of motherboard) or add an older version PCI video card that
matches up with the list of cards supported in XFREE86.
If good parts stores arent available to you Ebay has Everything you need.
I've seen older video cards go for as cheap as $5.00 on Ebay.
So... Total system price for a very good looking 933Mhz EMC box w/ all the
extra features you'll never use! = $350.00
