If you are unfamiliar with the usual sources for such components, there
may-well be a good chance you shouldn't be considering building such yourself!
Sufficient experience in electronic common sense and knowledge of sources are
usually "hand-in-hand"!

That said, the one source that comes to mind is Marlin P. Jones (do a Google
search---they are on the web!)

One point you should learn right away: It is quite often wiser to just PAY
for a proper component than to "take the chance" of wasting much more other
parts when you learn "catastrophically" the "surplus" part was NOT a wise choice!
