metric z w/ inch x and y

Hi,

I just got a machine and am learning to make it work. It seems I have a
metric screw in the z and inch screws for x and y. Does this make since?
How can I make it work with cad files that are in inch?

When I set it up as;
10 TPI
200 steps

I get twice the travel that I should. If I half either it works. Which
one should I do it to? Is this the solution?

The z is a table made by Parker, model 402004.
