Robert,
Count the wires going into the motor. If there are 4 wires (one
green and 3 others) it's a 3 phase motor, and you can't run it without
converting your household 220 1 phase, into 3 phase. You can do this with a
phase converter, but it would be much better to use a VFD (variable
frequency drive) since it also allows you to control the speed. You're
looking at about $300.00.
