You could do it but it would be considerable work and you might not get
the performance from it that you would get from a PC over Parallel Port.

If you would like to try and you have say, An IPAQ 38xx or greater you
could read up at www.handhelds.org on how to convert your Handheld
Pocket PC 2002 or greater to Linux "Familiar" with "Opie" (similar to
X-Windows).

Then you can adapt a super-slimmed down version of EMC ported to Familiar.
I flashed my IPAQ 3835 to Familiar with Opie and it has so many more
features now than Pocket PC could ever offer! And the best thing is, Its
All Free! But I dont think anyone ever ported a CNC package over yet.
