I try use hemostats as heat sinks whenever I solder two wires
together. It protects the components, and prevents wicking on multi-
strand cables. You can use any small clamps for this - I've pressed
my wife or daughter into service to hold needle-nose pliers in
position.
Alternatively, you can use a crimp or clamp connector.
