design, probably more complex than you want to deal with, though.

Another possibility is the HF micromill, which has a 4 x 6 envelope
(at least) and can do what you want, if you find a store with one, ask
for the $149.00 price, which was the sidewalk sale/closeout price.

You will need heavier steppers, though, or you will have to gear yours
down considerably, depending on the relative strength of the stepper
you use.

www.harborfreight.com for the mill, and ignore the price for the
moment, since it's the retail stores that are closing out the micro
mills.
