EMC and rt V2

If I understand correctly, on the rt .9 version EMC modified the rt
package and part of the install process was to build these changes. From
a recent post it sounds like you can now take a pre-compiled rt V2.0
package and run EMC directly on it. Is this correct?
If so this should indeed make EMC very independent of the kernel
distribution.
