so other than software, this package would have all needed drivers. motors
etc... to get a system running correct? please forgive my ignorance but, i
dont know what external pulse generating card is, can you explain?

This is incorrect. HobbyCNC does sell DeskNC software according to what
I saw on their site last night. This is a DOS program without any CAM
tools. The program you are referencing DeskCNC is an integrated CAM
package with a Windows based controller that uses an external pulse
generating card. As far as I know it is only available from
www.KTMarketing.com/Sherline www.imsrv.com and www.DeskCNC.com
