I'm using a DEWALT trim router (DW660)

http://kj.cloudcitydigital.com/pages/taig_mill_d660mount.html

and a speed control 20A from Grizzly.

http://www.grizzly.com/products/item.cfm?itemnumber=G3555

Keeps from burning the wood and plastic I mainly work with.

I'm switching it with a Crydom 50A SSR.

Yes .... it's noisy ... otherwise I'm happy with the set-up
