I don't claim to be an angel by any means. But, there is the strong
possibility that the person asking for the "Crack" is from one of the
companies that makes the software, ie just trolling around. Even if he
isn't, it would be a shame if this mailing list got shut down because of
such activity.
I agree with your premise that there's a lot of tyranny associated with
$15,000 software. That's why I avoid it.
There are a lot of affordable packages coming along, that might not be as
fancy as Surfcam, but are very good and affordable for the hobby,
semi-serious machinist. Vector is one of them. You can get it for around
$500.
(www.vectorcam.com) If you want an affordable alternative to Autocad, get
Intellicad ( http://www.cadopia.com/) for free, with no strings attached.
It works just like Acad 14.
With the open source movement gaining so much ground now, there will be
some good CAD/CAM programs in the future. Matra has opened their source
code and has it at www.opencascade.org. Varkon has done the same.
Anyway, I am straying here. I apologize for being longwinded on this
issue, but I don't want the mailing list shut down because of unlawful
activity.
