To bring this back? to the purpose of the group?!?
I use the krytox grease on leadscrews and their bearings with great
results... It is high pressure, high temp, and inert to most any shop
chemicals.

And choosing better bearings can have a huge impact on more than wood
routers... When making (or adapting) a spindle for a CNC machine,
large or small, consider which bearings are being used carefully.
This discussion has hopefully provided some insight along those lines
as well.
