No, it is NOT easier to build, but it works better with long, thin
screws. If they don't turn, they cannot whip. The problem is to
get the ball nut perfectly centered in the rotating assembly. You
have to make some assembly that runs between a pair of preloaded
roller bearings (angular contact bearings can be used in the smaller
setups), and it has to hold the ballnut by whatever surfaces are made
available. Then, you have to provide a toothed belt sprocket for the
motor to drive the nut.
