AJAX has a complete package for your tired R2E4. It does come with
new motors, pre-programmed PLC and goodies you'll need to get it
rocking again. I have heard that their warranty sucks but if you are
looking for a quick fix at a cheap price you might give them a look.
If your like me and not nuts about reinventing the wheel with a
bunch of junk you bought from an online auction it might be right
for you. The AJAX control is the same as a Centroid if you are
familiar with that and has a user friendly interface. This is not an
endorsement for AJAX by any means just some advice for a cheap quick
fix. Now if you are more serious and have a couple of bucks for an
industrial hardened control my choice is FAGOR as they are top
drawer. That's what I have on my machines and I like all my controls
the same. It saves time reading the books or trying to remember the
ins + outs of each control. Especially for me since I may be away
from the shop for weeks at a time. I do have an ACU-RITE MILLPWR on
one of my BP's and like it a lot but prefer all the controls the
same for the reasons I stated.
