Nextel phones may be causing control glitches

I never connected the dots before, but for those of you who use
Nextel phones; if you hold the phone next to your computer's speaker
(or a home duty portable phone) you will hear all sorts of noises if
the Nextel is transmitting. It just dawned on me that it my not be
the brightest idea to take your Nextel cell phone into the shop if
you are not using shielded wiring on your CNC tool.
I have not noticed this idiosyncrasy with any other brand of cell
phone, but I suppose there may be other brands that behave similarly.
Come to think of it, we use headsets so we don't radiate our brains
and then clip our phones to the front of our belts...hmmm
(I have no other comments about Nextel and in fact use them
extensively)
