Many thanks to Mariss, Dave and Jon for the information. This tells me
what I needed to know. I will be happy with 500rpm max speed and can
adjust the power supply voltage to deliver what it needs for the
application. It's good to know that steppers don't HAVE to run hot if
you don't need that performance.
