Thanks Jon, this was the main response I was looking for. I think this
will be the route that I will travel and have a dedicated machine for
all machining operations with the Linux/EMC on it, and as you said above
and below here, the more intricate things done on the other system and
sent over.

Thanks to all that have responded with the useful info. I will not try
and name all of you as I know I will forget someone, so I will make it a
blanket thanks. Once again you all have helped me to understand another
area of ongoing concern.
