Changes to the CCED Group. Off Topic for group posts

ATTENTION ALL GROUP MEMBERS, the following changes are in place now. They
were required to stop people from joining on moderated status, but due to a
Yahoo Security hole, being allowed to upload things to the following sections.
Files, Links, Calendar, etc.
There were no restrictions on them, and no way to stop them....
This change has been in the works for some time, and actually was in place a
week ago.

If the OFF TOPIC problems continue, there will be other changes later, to
handle that problem. These changes were not implemented as a result of that
ongoing problem.

Last week one individual joined, promptly uploaded 14 Pornographic story's
with links in the files section. The same individual also uploaded 8 links, all
to Porn sites. This takes a lot of moderator time to find and remove them.

Members can download files, but no longer allowed to upload them.
Members can look at Bookmarks, but no longer upload them.
Members can vote in polls, but can't start a poll.
Members can view the Database, but can no longer upload to it.
Members can no longer set a calendar event, they can view events.
Members chat is open for member to member chats.
Members can no longer access the promote feature.

If you have a file to upload, contact one of the list owners, and send it to
him for inclusion in the files section. Please be sure the title of the file,
or links shows what the file/link is about.

I just started two new groups CCED1, and CCED2, these will not be message
groups, but will be for the storage of files, and links only. You might want to
join them, and keep the message digest button clicked, so you will now when a
message or link is uploaded by a moderator. This might not happen soon.

A lot of the older files will be moved over to the CCED1 group for now. If
you have something in the files section, please review it so we can move as
necessary
Mostly the old files showing your machines will be moved to make more room.
The stuff such as Gecko, circuits, etc., will stay in place for now. The
decision on what to move will be made by a moderator.

Gentleman, I would like NO discussion of the above on the group, but send
comments or discussion to the:

This is a start to make more room for files, and links, for the future.
And save the moderators hours of time stopping Porn, and other spam that you
have not been seeing.
