I think you need to have the Moglice surround the ball more, or it
will be likely to pop out. I can imagine pouring the Moglice in two
parts, letting the first part harden and then putting mold release agent
on it before casting the 2nd part. It would be tricky to get the Moglice
to just the right height. Or, you could have a very thin divider made of
shim stock, perhaps, that would allow the unit to split on the diameter
of the ball. Put mold release on the divider. It might be possible to make
the thing like a collet holder. There'd be a back half, with a half-ball
Moglice casting. And, a front half that screws on, with a Moglice ring to
support the ball from the front. You could screw the front ring on tighter
to adjust as the Moglice wears.
