Hi Derek,
You don't have a digital camera or a scanner available to put pictures of
your caliper on the web site do you? It would probably be of interest to
some of us and may give us some inspiration for the DRO project. There was
anote a few weeks ago of the Mitutoyo patent covering the digital caliper
design. Its quite a long document and, since my printer for some reason
decided to print it at about half size, its taking some time for me to get
through it but from your description, it seems your instrument may use a
variation of their technology.
