Hurco Parajust Spindle Controller

My vocatioanl machine shop class along with our electronics class
are retrofitting an old Hurco KMB-1 CNC knee-mill. We want to
control the spindle speed manually with a pot. Can anyone give us
some input on where we would need to tap into the spindle controller
to do this?
