I'm going to look into the slate. The local billiards table dealer was
closed when I got there after work. I just found an 18x24 surface plate
locally so I may go that route, though for my machine it really needs to
be a couple inches longer. The slate sounds like a good option if I can
cut it to any size I want. Looks like diamond blades in a circular saw
will cut it.
