Compumotor Disaster

Well, I wired my 8 wire motor in the parallel configuration thanks to the
help on the list, and hooked it up to my Xylotex drive to test it and see
how well it works. Except I forgot to make sure that none of the coils were
shorted to the motor body, and one of them was. As soon as I powered up the
driver board it was all over, damn. My great deal on a 2-axis slide with 2
compumotor steppers just got $125 more expensive, and I now have one less
motor. Good thing I have another Xylotex driver sitting in the drawer ready
for just such an emergency. I think I will stop playing with my new motors
until my replacement driver arrives next week. Too bad I sold my old
Camtronics driver last week, since that would have been the one I tested
this with.
