Does anyone know of a reasonably priced source for a microstep
driver rated uo to 12 amps at 170V? The motors we are wanting to
control are size NEMA 66, manufactured by Superior electric (MH172)
and are on a large knee mill (Sajo). I have built several systems
using Gecko's with NEMA 42 motors on bridgeport mills, but am in
need of something with more current and voltage capacity for this
aplication. There appears to be several step drivers in this
current range available from the motor manufactures (Superior,
Parker, ect.) but the prices run $1000-$1500 per axis, I was hopeing
to find someting that would do the trick in the $300-$400 range.
Thanks,
Paul
