Servo choices

Ok I'm a newbie but hopefully you guys can help. I want to build a
cnc router using servo motors 8ft x 4ft. How do I choose the servo
motors. I am looking at either the gecko 3series or rutex drivers
but dont know enough about the differences in the motors or drivers
to determine which to buy. Do I match the driver to the motor or the
motor to the driver????
What does PLL step pulse multiplier mean on the gecko 340 board. Is
that a desirable feature??
As I said a newie but I searched the archives and couldn't find
anything about it.
Also I did find a post on the size of stepper motors to use for such
a router table being between 400 - 600oz/in or 200watt. Is this
right? and what does that equate to in servo motors. I am meeting
the THK rep tomorrow but the prices he was talking about for servo
motors (ie thousands just for the motor) is a lot higher than what I
have found people on the net using.
