squaring up a sherline mill

Does anyone have a quick recipe for
squaring up a sherline 2000 mill?

The many axis are causing me some head aches.

And the 'big nuts' are kind of hard to work with too.

Are there any tried and true methods around?

I was going to use a simple G1 X7 pause X-7 and watch
the dial indicator.

Is this about it?
