In checking out sources for my toroids to drive my 3 axis DC servo
router (via Gekoes) I've come across the Toroid Corporation Of
Maryland (Toroid.com). They have decent prices for new ones, and a
vast selection to choose from (primary and secondary winding ratings
out the wazoo). And, if they don't have just the right one for you,
they'll supply a kit, complete with instructions, which includes the
toroid core, a little tool to wind with (I think) and complete
instructions on wire size and number of turns, etc. The link for
that is
http://toroid.com/standard_transformers/transformer_kits/transformer_k
its.htm
I may check this out just to have fun with it.
