As you know, I'm doing exactly this with my mill too. I spec'ed out
the Hitachi L100-015NFU for the VFD. No need to "overspec" the VFD.
Your mill and mine both have the variable speed belt drive head, so
the VFD is not even going to be used to change the speed as much as
it is just a phase converter for 230VAC Single Phase to 230VAC Three
Phase. In fact, life can be made easier on the VFD and the motor by
soft starting and stopping the VFD and not using the anti-plugging
solenoid/contactor.

If you need any replacement parts for your BOSS 3, let me know, as I
am gutting my control boxes in the next two weeks.
