Kib,
Let me answer you Estop question.
The Sound Logic (Campbell) breakout board has a jumper on the board that can
be used to inform Mach2 that you have pressed Estop. In our case it is pin
10 on the parallel port. I install a second set of contacts on the Estop
switch. I wire the second set of contacts to the Estop pins on my board. On
my board it will also drop the 5 volts to my gecko drives.
For my power supply, I use a contactor and use one set of contacts to make a
latching relay out of the contactor. My Estop switch (normally closed) is
in series with my on/off switch. I also use a momentary switch in the
circuit to energize the contactor. The contactor can then switch power to my
power supply and my Porter Cable router.
When the Estop switch is pressed, it will let the contactor drop out
removing power to my power supply and my Porter Cable router. The second set
of contacts will inform Mach2 that an Estop has occurred. Mach2 will stop
the charge pump and wait for the operator to fix the problem and reset the
Estop switch. Any relays that are controlled by the charge pump will also
drop out.
