I see no reason why it would not work. You'll just use 2 of the 3
poles on the 609 to swittch your motor. You'll have to derate the
Hp it can handle due to the increase in the current for going to
single phase.
Since the 609-AOW is rated for 3 Hp at 230 VAC 3Ph, which is about
9.5 amps on each pole, you would only be able to switch a 1 Hp 230
VAC single phase motor which is going to draw about 8 amps. A 1.5 Hp
motor will draw about 10 amps which you might be able to pull off.
Just check you full load amps for your particular motor and don't
exceed 9.5 amps.
