Cad/Cam and windows emulator

I have a dual boot win/linux computer here (1 of 3). Vector is my CAD/CAM
program of choice. I use it for 99.9% of my work in the shop. Normally, I
generate the G-code in the house and send it via network to the CNCs.
When I am running Linux/EMC (my cnc controller), I sometimes need to switch
back to windows to get at Vector and generate more G-code. It gets tiresome
running back and forth and I know that the controller can be running while
I generate the next program (yea, I know- buy another computer to put in
the shop). I know that there are various ways to not have to reboot- ie
emulators, and VNC. Right now, I am interested in getting Wine (linux
windows emulator) to work with Vector. It has been partially successful
using a Wine version from Mar 26. It will let you bring Vector up and open
drawings, and do all the stuff that you would normally do- but the problem
is the child windows within the main frame dissapear every time the cursor
moves away from them. The bitmaps right under the main menu also go away
right after moving the cursor around. By familiarity with Vector I can
draw (keep on refreshing the screen with "V") and generate G-code in linux,
but it is a bit strange having the sub windows go away all the time.
My question to this group is- is there anyone out there who is running
Wine/Linux/Vector with better results than I am?
I searched the comp.emulators.ms-windows.wine archives on usenet, found a
few things, tried them and had no luck.

Thanks,
Dan
