Hi Lee,
The only motor control system that I know of that could control this
many motors is made by JR Kerr at: http://www.jrkerr.com/ They use
RS-485 and each "axis" is addressable over a network. There's also an
RS-232 - RS485 converter so you can configure a system from your PC's
serial port. I havent't used his brushless motor drives but had great
success with the brushed ones. Tech support is great too.
What are you going to make with that many motors? It certainily isn't
any CNC setup I've every imagined...
