I just got two Andrews traveling wire EDM's for hauling them off.
They appear to be complete, from the mid to late 80's.I also got all
manuals and schematics. They are tape control and the enclosures have
been opened for some time and it looks like there may be some boards
missing. Has anyone had experience with a control update on a wire
edm? Is it worth it? One model is a 2123 and the other is a EF330.
The 2123 appears to have a decent x y travel while the 330 is
somewhat smaller. Both also have z and c axis as well. Would I be
lucky enough to replace only the axis motion with a pc based control
and use the existing power supply, water system and wirespool
controls? Any input would be appreciated.
