Mach 2 Lathe - Emco Compact 5

Does anyone actually have Mach 2 running a lathe with the threading
working?
I have an Emco compact 5, can I use the stock spindle encoder as it
is or do I need some different style of encoder?
The Emco spindle encoder is basically a 5"(sppx.)metal disk with
perforations running between an optical interrupt switch. There are
two optical switches, one has many counts per rev and the other
counts once per rev. There are only 4 conductors for the two
switches I assume they share a common power and ground and the other
two are the "count" signal from each.
Anyone know the specs on this EMCO spindle encoder. Would save me
lots of time if I can use the stock arrangement.
Thanks, Joe V.
